Kearney, NE - Another all too common animal bite case came up in Nebraska last week, this time involving a young child. The child was bitten by a rabid cat in the town of Kearney. Police received reports of this possible rabid animal by local citizens. Police Chief Dan Lynch said that the cat had gotten in a fight with a domesticated animal and either bit or scratched another person. The Kearney Humane Society captured and tested the cat and after it was euthanized, its head was sent to a lab for testing and verification.
